‘Original’ Oktoberfest happens at Hilton Colombo for 24th consecutive time!

Probably the only authentic Oktoberfest that has been happening for 24 consecutive years in Sri Lanka, is the Hilton Colombo’s Oktoberfest. Guests travel from all around the world to experience the festivities during this time. Authentic German food, lots of brew, Bavarian music, German entertainment and a festive ambiance is what you will get at Hilton Colombo’s original and authentic German food festival; the Oktoberfest. The event will take place from 27 October to 5 November at the hotel’s Sports Centre Arena. 

Oktoberfest will be held in a giant marquee that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests, while enjoying some of the finest Oktoberfest food such as traditional German sausages, smoked cold bratwurst sausages, traditional German white sausages, braised beef with red wine and vinegar, pork knuckles, sauerkraut, giant pretzels and a feast of other Bavarian dishes. Guests could also enjoy dancing on the tables, participate in various competitions and win raffle draws daily. 

It’s time to adorn the Leiderhosen and give a hearty ‘Prost’ with your friends whilst the nine-member Bavarian band plays ‘Oom-Pah’ music. The band will be flown in from Germany especially for the occasion along with three German serving girls, courtesy Qatar Airways. Oktoberfest will be held from Sunday to Thursday (7 p.m. to midnight) and Friday to Saturday (7 p.m. to 1 a.m.).
