Health Minister and Deputy Health Minister experience Microsoft HoloLens

Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senaratne experienced the Microsoft HoloLensat the Microsoft ‘Future of Healthcare’ showcase at the 24th Triennial Commonwealth Medical Association Conference in Colombo. 

The Microsoft showcase demonstrated a real life scenario of a heart patient and the process of receiving treatment and aftercare in partnership with its partners currently developing healthcare solutions on its Azure cloud platform. 

Deputy Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Faizal Cassim participated at the in-booth press briefing that demonstrated the HoloLens to the media. The Deputy Minister also envisioned the future of Sri Lanka’s healthcare that leverages the latest developments in technology solutions to make free medical services accessible to all citizens.

The HoloLens, which mixes reality with 3D holographic content giving reality to the virtual world, was on show at the Microsoft enclosure as part of Microsoft’s vision for the future of healthcare. The Microsoft team also demonstrated how specific tech devices can be utilised to support innovative digital healthcare solutions to improve healthcare services and also allow remote medical care in real time.
