Rainco encourages the nation to join Trail 2016

Rainco, the premium umbrella brand and the specialist in providing shelter to the nation, recently announced its generous partnership with Trail 2016, coming on board as a Bronze sponsor. Pledging a donation of $ 10, 000 in aid of Trail, the contribution will include cash as well as services in-kind. 

Trail 2016 which aims to raise $ 5 million to finance the expansion of the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle is a 670 km walk from Point Pedro in the North, to Dondra Head in the South over the course of 28 days, with the objective of honouring and helping those fighting cancer. 

The founders of Trail, Nathan Sivagananathan and Sarinda Unamboowe are committed to walk the whole distance of 670 km this year along with many other dedicated Trail Blazers, including Brand Ambassadors Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara. 

Faris M. Fausz, the CEO of Rainco commenting on the sponsorship said, “As a well reputed brand among many Sri Lankans, we’re constantly trying to define our purpose by being compassionate towards such causes. Trail stands as the best example to all Sri Lankans to leave behind their differences and join hands for a greater cause towards humanity.”

Founded in 2011, Trail is Sri Lanka’s largest ever crowd funded charitable initiative, raised USD 2.6 million in 2011 to build the Tellippalai Trail Cancer Hospital, in Jaffna. The hospital is the only dedicated cancer facility in the area, serving 4,500 patients across the Northern, North Central and Eastern regions of Sri Lanka.
