Coca Cola Supports Global Shapers Regional Summit as Youth Partner

Coca-Cola is supporting a regional meeting of South Asian young leaders taking place this week in Colombo, organised by the Colombo Hub of the Global Shapers Community. Taking place over a period of three days, the Global Shapers from South Asia will use the city as a backdrop to explore what a regional identity means, and the role young successful millennials will play in shaping their communities to this end.

Coca-Cola, a Global Impact Partner of the Global Shapers Community, is supporting Shape South Asia as the Official Youth Partner. The Opening Reception of the event yesterday featured a special address by Ishteyaque Amjad, Vice President – Public Affairs and Communication, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia. 

Amjad and the leadership of Coca-Cola will also host a special lunch with the attending Global Shapers that will provide key interaction. The Global Shapers of the Colombo Hub have previously held with visiting Coca-Cola leadership including most recently with Venkatesh Kini (President Coca-Cola India and South West Asia) during his visit to Sri Lanka in July.

On coming on board as Youth Partner, Ishteyaque Amjad said, “Coca-Cola is pleased to partner with Shape South Asia 2016. Our partnership with the Global Shapers Community is a reflection of our unflinching belief in the power of youth and through their impactful work globally, they continue to bring sustainable change in communities. We are confident that events such as this will strengthen the voice of the youth in the region.”

An initiative of the World Economic Forum, the The Global Shapers Community is a network of 400 Hubs in over 150 countries.
