‘A Good Death’ will be the topic of this year’s public lecture at Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation on Wednesday, 28 September at 6 p.m. The lecture will be delivered by eminent neurologist, Dr Thashi Chang (MBBS, MD, FRCP, untitled-2DPhil), who is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.

As medicine advances we are as a generation are able to live longer. Adding life to those years and having a good death is perhaps the greatest challenge. Diseases such as dementia and cancer are among the culprits that threaten to rob us of this entitlement.

The lecture will be thought provoking and informative. It will no doubt open new vistas in our approach to life and provide us better insight to manage our health. The Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation is proud to host this lecture this year as part of its annual events during the month or September, which is World Alzheimer’s month.

Dr. Chang has had an illustrious career in medicine and obtained his PhD while on a much coveted Commonwealth Scholarship from the University of Oxford. He was a brilliant undergraduate and postgraduate student, who also obtained colours for rugby from the Colombo University.  He is an accomplished researcher and much sought after speaker.

Entrance is free and open to all. 6 p.m., Wednesday 28 September at the Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation, 110, Ketawalamulla Lane, Colombo 10. See http://alzlanka.org/ for more information.
