Eurocars, the official agent of Porsche cars in Sri Lanka, is hosting the first exclusive Porsche Driving Experience with a series of driving events that will kick off from this week.

Porsche enthusiasts will receive the rare opportunity to experience a total of nine German-built top of the range sports cars, including the all-new 718 Boxster model which was launched on 13 September.

The other Porsche models that the country will witness for the very first time are the Porsche 911 Turbo, 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, Panamera GTS, Cayenne GTS, Cayman GTS and the Macan GTS. These cars will reveal Porsche’s pioneering technology that combines outstanding performance and efficiency. Car enthusiasts will get to enjoy Porsche’s performance luxury with the assistance of two international professional driving instructors and three of Sri Lanka’s top local driving experts.

“The Porsche Driving Experience is an opportunity for us to introduce car enthusiasts to Porsche’s entire sports car range. These cars are exquisite in terms of engineering performance, design and special features that are unique to the Porsche brand. We are happy to give our customers and other sports car enthusiasts the chance to experience these cars on the track like never before. The Porsche cars will also be on display at the Porsche Centre Showroom on weekdays and in other selected locations,” Chairman of Eurocars Ltd. Arthur Senanayake stated.

Managing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific Martin Limpert, who attended the launch, said: “Twenty years after the first Boxster made its debut, Porsche is rebranding its mid-engine roadsters, the two-seat convertibles. The designation for the new generation of models is 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S, which were used in the Porsche 718 mid-engine sports cars that won numerous races in the 50s and 60s such as Targa Florio and Le Mans.

“The new 718 Boxster comes with 2 litre engine displacement delivering 300 hp while the

S version is equipped with 2.5 litre delivering 350 hp. The chassis has been reengineered and the new model comes with the enhanced Porsche Communication Management. Porsche is continuing the tradition of four-cylinder flat engine in the historic 718 mid-engine sports cars and at the same time successfully introducing more powerful yet fuel efficient new 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S.

“The response has been positive from both sports car fans and journalists and we hope to further receive good feedback in Sri Lanka.”

The new Boxster, which is named after a combination of the words ‘boxer’ (flat engine) and ‘roadster’, allows a significant reduction of up to 13% in fuel consumption and emissions. The 718

Boxster makes a statement in every way. Its exterior includes an athletic silhouette and striking new, optically wider exterior design underlined by redefined Bi-Xenon headlights, coupled with integrated LED daytime running lights in the front. The Boxster also has three -dimensional taillights with four point brake lights and trim strip on the rear end.

The 718 Boxster offers an even sportier and more dynamic driving experience through an enhanced optional Sport Chrono package which includes the ‘Mode Switch’ and ‘SPORT response’ button in the optional GT Sports Steering wheel.

In terms of infotainment and connectivity, the new generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) offers a 7-inch multitouch screen, mobile phone preparation and Sound Package Plus

As a subsidiary of IWS Holdings, Eurocars has been the sole authorised agent of Porsche cars parts and service for 18 years and continues to serve its exclusive clientele with services that are on par with global standards.
