It is the assemblage of flavours from various parts of Asia, synched with the Western gastronomic influences that makes Cinnamon Grand’s Tao, the best fusion restaurant in the city.

Created to give locals patrons a taste of fusion cuisine at the very outset when this category was not common in Sri Lanka, and to entice expats and foreigners to journey the many winding roads of Asia and the west through the innovative mix of tastes; a dining experience at the Cinnamon Grand’s Tao is worthy of every penny spent.

With over 70 dishes to enjoy, inclusive of a vegetarian menu featuring 15 varieties, soups, starts collection, mains, sides and dessert, Tao’s menu has been carefully curated to present the best of both worlds on a plate.

Some of the most popular dishes from the menu are the jumbo prawn wontons with sweet and sour sauce and fruit salsa, cashew crusted prawns on Thai omelette with sweet and sour sauce, coconut marinated grilled salmon pavé with Moroccan couscous and red curry cream. Marinated pork chop with kang kung, peppered mash and wok fried vegetables, wok fried noodles with gadogado vegetables, grilled cuttlefish, scallops, prawns and garoupa in Asian marinades, Hokkaido scallop carpaccio in green curry emulsion, tempura mussels stuffed with chilli pepper and mushroom served with wasabi mayo, chocolate cheesecake with strawberry cream and grape jam quenelles – are some of the other must trys at the restaurant.

For those who would like to experience a gourmet fusion feast, the Epicurean Menu on Thursdays is bound to be a favourite. With seven starters, three soups, seven main courses and seven desserts – this 24 dish meal is a true celebration of Asian and Western culture.

Open for dinner only, Tao is a ‘must-try’ dining experience. For reservations, call 011 2497369.
