On Friday, to mark International Homeless Animals Day, Uber and Embark brought UberPUPPIES to people’s doorsteps in Colombo.

On 19 August, those who opened their Uber app between 09:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and chose UberPUPPIES got their cuddles delivered to them for 15 minutes, at the push of a button.

Riders were also able to speak to representatives from Embark and Uber who were present at the location if they wanted to get more details about the process involved in adopting puppies.

Bhavik Rathod, Regional General Manager, Indian Subcontinent, Uber said, “Uber is all about giving riders an amazing experience, be it through chopper rides to yachts or even delivering food in some cities. We’re thrilled to bring UberPUPPIES to Colombo and through our association with Embark, we are eager to spread awareness about adopting puppies and hope many of them find a home through this on-demand.”

“It’s inspiring to see companies get involved in activities that involve our four-legged stray friends. Thanks to the UberPUPPIES initiative, we now have the opportunity to reach out to a larger audience and spread awareness about choosing to adopt in an exciting and engaging way,” said Otara Gunewardene, Founder, Embark.
