‘All You Need Is Love’ is the theme for Samutthana’s 10th year celebration. And what a celebration it’s going to be on Tuesday 16 August (pre-Poya) at 7:30 p.m. at the Lionel Wendt Auditorium.  So come on and be a part of the Beatlemania frenzy as the multi-Ruk-4talented Rukshan Perera along with the versatile band Flame, rock it with a Beatles Concert of over 25 soul-stirring hit-songs.

Guest stars will include Harsha Makalanda, Asteria and Nivendra Uduman, who will offer an exciting and varied interpretation to The Beatles numbers which have been adored by generations around the world for over half a century.

The audience will be transported back in time to the 1960s when the Fab Four – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – electrified audiences with their new and unique sounds. These four young lads from Liverpool created a sensation that literally shook the world. From England to the USA and all around the globe, The Beatles remained unmatched innovators, embracing a limitless variety of harmonies, structures and sounds.

Today, 50 years later, the perennially popular songs of this iconic band remain a favourite with the 60s groovers as well as many considerably younger fans. So much has been said and written about The Beatles; their story is mythic in its sweep. The most popular and influential rock-act ever, their music offers something for everyone.

And now, the Beatles fans in Sri Lanka have the chance to be treated to an unforgettable evening of some of their best loved songs – so come prepared to join Rukshan, Flame and friends and enjoy an irresistible evening of Beatlemania.

Samutthana – the Kings College London Resource Centre for Trauma – brings to you music for a great cause, in partnership with Rukshan Perera. All proceeds from this show will go towards the provision of mental health services for children and young people affected by the recent floods in Sri Lanka. What better way of celebrating 10 years of service, helping to reduce suffering and distress due to mental health. This milestone is an important way to reflect where we have been in the past decade, and reaffirm our commitment for the future. We’re sure you’ll agree that these things are worth sharing and celebrating!

Tickets are available at the Lionel Wendt Theatre, or from Samutthana, 419 Nawala Road, Nawala – tel: 011 2883847, 077 6565201.
