Free eye care and eye wear at Assetline Leasing Carnival 2016

Assetline Leasing Company Ltd. (ALCL) donated spectacles at a free eye clinic held at Assetline Leasing Carnival 2016 at the Gam Uda grounds in Dambulla.

As part of its community service activities at the carnival, free eye care and eyewear were provided in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society. More than 350 people from the local community with defective vision who visited this clinic benefitted from this initiative. 

Other community service activities held during this event included a blood donation camp, issuing National Identity Cards in collaboration with the Department of Registration of Persons, an awareness program for schoolchildren on prevention of child abuse, and a free emission campaign for Bajaj motorcycles and three-wheelers. The company also sponsored the construction of public toilet facilities at the Gam Uda grounds.  

Local businesses in the bustling town of Dambulla, home to one of Sri Lanka’s biggest wholesale markets, benefitted from this mega event which was a crowd-puller with fun activities galore. Leading musical groups Galaxies, Flashback and Sanidapa performed at the venue along with a number of popular artistes, keeping the crowds entertained while a play area dedicated to children, complete with merry-go-round, inflatable playground and sky jet added to the fun-filled environment. 

Assetline Leasing Carnival 2016 was an ideal meeting point where local vendors were able to showcase their products to the public and those budding entrepreneurs could learn about financial support available for them to get their ventures off the ground.
