Fundraiser in Melbourne Australia

Recently a fundraiser was organised in Melbourne Australia by Chris and Ralph De Niese, Judy and Bryan Buultjens and Ricky and Melani David for the sole purpose of raising much needed funds for the Van Reeth Memorial Home for the Elders in Galle. Funds were raised primarily by selling tickets for a hopper night, the food being prepared by Golden Hoppers a locale Sri Lankan eatery. Further funds were raised by selling traditional homemade Sri Lankan pickles. 

Additionally gifts were donated as prizes for the raffle that wrapped up the eventful evening. Family and friends were also generous with donations. The funds will be used for renovations, purchasing new equipment and daily medication for the benefit of the elderly residents. The event was the coming together of Sri Lankans living abroad to support the sisters who run the Elders Home and the incredible work that they do daily in taking care of the elderly residents at Van Reeth.
