The Sri Lanka-China Business Cooperation Council (SLCBCC) was established in 1994 with the primary objective of promoting and strengthening bi-lateral Business relationship between China and Sri Lanka. SLCBCC is one of the oldest and most active bilateral business councils in Sri Lanka.

During the past 22 years the council has performed remarkably well towards achieving these objectives, and in addition initiated and organised significant events of national interest to both countries. The Golden Jubilee celebrations of the signing of the Sri Lanka China Rubber Rice Pact held in 2002, and the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Establishment of Diplomatic Relationship between the two countries held in 2007 are examples.
