Drinking water demands

Villagers from Karabagala and Kokkgalla Grama Seva Divisions yesterday blocked traffic on the Tissa-Kataragama main road at Ambalanthota, demanding they be provided with drinking water. The protesters dispersed after the Leader of the Opposition of the Southern Provincial Council Tennakone Nilame and Provincial Councillor T.V.K. Gamini assured them that they would be provided with drinking water by bowsers until a permanent solution was achieved – Pic by P.D. de Silva
