President conveys good wishes to new British PM

President Maithripala Sirisena has conveyed wishes to the new Prime Minister of United Kingdom Theresa May as she began her duties on Wednesday.

The Sri Lankan President in a Twitter message wished May, UK’s second female Prime Minister, “strength and good luck” as she takes charge of the country reeling from Brexit - the decision to leave the European Union.

“Wishing Theresa May strength and good luck as she begins to lead the United Kingdom in this important period of transition,” the President said.
