Dr. Arosha was conferred patriotic ‘Sri Rohana Jana Ranjana’ title

Well known film, teledrama and stage play producer and former Working Director of ITN and current Senior Consultant of TRC, Dr. Arosha Fernando was conferred the ‘Sri Rohana Jana Ranjana’ national honorary patriotic title for his contribution to the industry, society and the country. This is the heights honorary title one could receive in a life time, and was awarded based on the nominations from the regulatory body of the local film industry, National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka (NFC-SL). 

This was conferred to only several people in the country up to date including the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2001.

In recognition of Dr. Arosha’s service to the society and country, three years ago he was awarded with three prestigious titles namely Deshabandu, Deshabhimani, and Lankaputhra followed by the appointment as a Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for All Island. Dr. Arosha is also a renowned scholar, holding five university degrees from Australia’s two leading universities including a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). Recognised as the producer who has produced highest number of creations in the shortest time frame in Sri Lanka, Dr. Arosha has produced nine films, three teledramas and two stage plays within a short period of three years to his credit, and currently in the process of producing his 10th film, and the fourth teledrama production.

Same was conferred to Roger Seneviratne for his achievements in the both art sector and in his political career, and number of other senior film artists were conferred with Deshabhimani and Lankaputhra titles at the same ceremony.
