SL and Kazakhstan sign deal on visa exemptions

Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka yesterday signed an agreement on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bulat Sarsenbayev and Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary Chitranganee Wagiswara signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, on the exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports.

The signing took place during the visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Sri Lanka. The Honorary Consul General for Kazakhstan in Sri Lanka Eshana De Silva was also present at the occasion.

During the visit, the Ambassador held a series of meetings with officials of the state, during which a number of issues of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, trade and tourism sectors were discussed, as well as Sri Lanka’s participation in the international specialised exhibition EXPO-2017.
