NSB retains AAA rating for 14th consecutive year

The premier savings bank of the country, National Savings Bank has been reaffirmed AAA National Long Term rating by Fitch Ratings Lanka for the 14th consecutive year. 

This is a notable achievement by the bank when consider the present challenging business environment. AAA rating of the bank denotes strong and stable fundamental characteristics that the Bank has and prospects of ongoing viability and lowest expectation of failure risk. 

Also this rating is an indication of the bank’s ability to meet financial commitments, such as interest, repayment of principal or counterparty obligations. It also an indication to depositors and investors of the bank receive the money owed to them in accordance with the terms on which they deposited or invested with the bank.

AAA rating was first assigned to the NSB by Fitch Rating Lanka in 2003 and NSB was the first local bank to receive AAA rating.
