The MBA Alumni Association of University of Colombo is an active body with a large membership base. It undertakes several academic and professional events throughout the year for continuous education and empowerment of its members and to continue links with the business community both in the public and private sector. Since all its members finally work in industry and commerce and bring into society their knowledge and experience, the association establishes close links with the business community at large.

The Association has over the years been well known in the business community, organising several key professional functions. Among them are the annual budget seminars, both pre and post. There is a pre-budget seminar where the business community is invited to discuss proposals with Senior Treasury officials including the Minister of Finance, enabling their comments to be captured in the Budget Speech and the Appropriation Act. After the budget is presented in Parliament, there is a session to explain to the general public the intricacies of the legislation. Both these events are immensely popular and the public await these events for their impact on their work.

The flagship event of the association is the annual Management Conference which brings to the business community the latest in leadership information, and this also covers macro factors impacting the growth and development of the key industry sectors in Sri Lanka.

The Association has become a vibrant entity which seeks to build close ties with the University of Colombo and assist it to raise the bar of the MBA program in par with the international standards.
