Sri Lanka participates in Japan IT Week 2016 at Big Sight in Tokyo

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) organised participation of a nine-member IT delegation in collaboration with JETRO Colombo to attend the ‘Japan IT Week’ exhibition in Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan, from 11 to 13 May.

The IT companies participated at the event were hSenid Software International Ltd., OpenArc Systems Management Ltd., Orion Development Ltd., Envoy Facility Management Services Ltd., Just in Time Holdings Ltd., Xcendant Ltd., Softcodeit Solutions Ltd., Effective Solutions Ltd., EyepaxIT Consulting Ltd. and representatives from EDB and JETRO Colombo. Xcendant, Softcodeit, Effective Solutions and Eyepax were first timers to IT Week in Japan.

JETRO organised a courtesy meeting with Japan Information Technology Services Industry Association (JISA) on 9 May at JISA Office to strengthen the relationship between JISA and Sri Lanka IT industry. At this meeting D.D. Premaratne, Minister Counsellor (Commercial), Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan also attended.

Members of the delegation at the exhibition were able to obtain around 98 confirmed contacts; hSenid, OpenArc, Envoy and Orion were successful in achieving a high number of contacts due to their continuous presence in this exhibition.

The seminar organised by JETRO at the exhibition venue was attended by Japanese clients and each Sri Lankan company was given an opportunity to present its company information to the audience.

JETRO organised the above events through the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Partnership between Japan and Sri Lanka after the summit meeting.
