Members Meet: Its concept

Keeping to the vision of TMC, in meeting and greeting fellow members of different disciplines monthly, the Board of Management organises an evening program at 6:15 p.m. generally on the third Wednesday of each month (unless notified otherwise) where reputed speakers are billed to speak on very current and interesting topics. No sooner such presentations are concluded, the membership together with their guests meet at the Lobby Bar of the Galadari Hotel at which they interact with fellow members and guests in camaraderie. In this manner the members have the opportunity of familiarising themselves with members and discuss in friendship many matters of interest.

The Galadari Hotel Management has been extremely gracious to provide the members and their guests a 50% discount on beverages and the usual TMC discount of 20% on food at the Lobby Bar on such evenings.

The members, guests and perhaps prospective members too, thus gain many benefits, of getting to know more about TMC, and its members from a variety of initiatives , such as by way of introduction of TMC, listening and learning from reputed speakers and adding value to themselves by way of enhancing their interpersonal and interactive skills, developing business opportunities and networking.

In the recent past, presentations at the monthly Members Meet were made by eminent and distinguished speakers who are experienced professionals in their own field and they are:  

 Tayab Hassen, Member of Parliament Eran Wickramaratne, Dhanajaya Hettiarachchi, Dr. Saman Kelegama, Fazal Issadeen, Arfath Saleem, Professor Ajantha Dharmasiri, Anushka Wijesinha, Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya, Nayana Mawilmada and W.K.H. Wegapitiya. 

Kindly note that yet another meeting is scheduled to be held on 15 June. All members and guests may diarise and attend this Members Meet at which they would be listening to a renowned and eloquent speaker on Economic Reforms – Prof. Rohan Samarajiva – founding Chair of LIRNEasia who will speak on the topic ‘Reforms – Why and How’.
