In every two seconds, someone in the world is in need of a blood transfusion and one precious pint of blood can save the lives of up to three human beings. As per statistics in Sri Lanka, the demand for blood from hospitals has exceeded the supply of blood and it has become a serious issue to be addressed.

Toll Global Forwarding Lanka Ltd. joined together with the National Blood Transfusion Service Sri Lanka (NBTS) and successfully hosted a blood drive titled, ‘Give Blood Give Life’ on 9 April at Living Way Church Hall, Colombo. The event was organised by the ‘Team 3D’ of Toll Global Forwarding and members are very happy to announce that their advertising campaign could attract 150 participants as blood donors. ‘Give Blood Give Life’ was the main project of Team 3D for the internal campaign titled ‘Team Excellence Challenge’ attached to Toll Global Forwarding.

Team 3D consisted of 10 diversely talented members. President of the team Sujith Vaas said, “We are proud to announce that over 100 pints could be collected from the donors. We were very focused on what we are doing from self-fund raising stages to post event stage and thus we were fortunate to witness the first blood donation drive in the company’s history with achieved targets.”

A certificate of appreciation and a Toll branded pen were issued to every participant to show the appreciation and to make it a valuable life event.

“While fulfilling a corporate responsibility towards the society, we always put our best efforts to enhance the Toll brand awareness among both business community and general public,” Team 3D team manager Mihiri Pathirana said.
