Avery Dennison Lanka and Foundation initiate scholarship program for children of low income families

Avery Dennison Lanka Ltd. in collaboration with Avery Dennison Foundation has initiated a two-year scholarship program with the intention of being a helping hand to the school children of low income families. Vihara Mahadevi Vidyalaya, a well known girl’s school located in Kiribathgoda was privileged to be selected as the first beneficiary school in this noble project.

After a well structured screening the principal and the teachers have identified 10 students who have great potential in their higher education. In an attempt to provide them with financial support in order to encourage them to continue their higher education, this particular scholarship will support 10 students from low income households, to pay for their education for a period of two years. This will enable them to continue their school education until they sit for the GCE (A/L) Examination (University entrance examination). 

Out of the total grant amount of $ 10,000, each student will receive Rs. 5,000 per month for a period of two years until she completes her final year in school.

Improved quality of education/life for the students

Increased motivation of the students to continue their education
