BeWaxed relocates to serve customers better

From the time of great Egyptian civilisations to the 21st century, the lifestyle of humans has evolved vastly. One of the greatest evolutions is perhaps how women beautify themselves. But among the fads that have survived the test of time are hair removal techniques. The ancient Egyptians used honey or liquid gold for this purpose mainly owing to its medicinal properties. The method is still one of the most popular in the world. 

However in the little paradise island of Sri Lanka hair removal was more often than not a part of the services offered by regular salons in both urban and rural areas. The lack of a personalised, hygienic and customer friendly specialised waxing salon was a void that many women in the city began to feel. To fill in this gap entered Durga Kenny and her idea for a waxing salon that was to eventually be called ‘BeWaxed’. Earlier situated in between Nugegoda and Nawala, BeWaxed has been sought after by women from every corner of Colombo and the suburbs.

The BeWaxed salon has now been relocated to a more spacious and convenient location at Kirimandala Mawatha and the opening ceremony was held today amidst a gathering of Durga’s friends and family. The waxing salon will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all days except Poya days. The official website for the salon www.bewaxed.lk was also launched for customers to get a view of services and comforts provided before stepping in to the plush new outlet.

The waxing salon has also taken to social media to expand the customer base and also to provide their loyal customers with tips and information on waxing and other beauty related matters. Durga is also constantly on hand at the salon and online to clear any doubts customers may have. 

Over the last four years BeWaxed has seen exponential growth with which actually started in just the first two weeks of business. As the only dedicated waxing salon customers thronged BeWaxed. Since the custom waxing salon was the only one at the time to offer bikini waxing the demand for their services increased as well. “We now have a loyal clientele of about 3,000 customers who seek our range of services,” says Durga.

BeWaxed offers a variety of services to their customers such as full body waxing and have also recently included body scrubs and body packs with hopes of enhancing the waxing experience for their customers. Durga also hopes to introduce bikini ingrown treatment to her portfolio in the near future. 

Durga explains that BeWaxed differs from all other waxing and regular salons across the country in terms of being the only exclusively for ladies establishment of its kind. This offers Durga’s clients the private and safe environment that women desire when it comes to such intimate matters. She also attributes the salon’s success to her loyal staff, many of whom have been with her since its inception.
