“We have completed my seventh film production ‘Thanapathilage Gedera’ recently and we already had the special screening last week. This film is unveiling over 1,200 years of the untold Sri Lankan history in an artful manner and planned to screen in theatres in early 2017. My eighth production ‘Breaking News’ is a situational high-budget comedy which is currently being shot, and I am planning to complete the shooting in the coming few days. Soon after we have planned to commence the shooting of the new film, my ninth production again a comedy ‘Hello Mister – Mama Director’ in end of June,” said Dr. Arosha.

“We had ongoing discussions with Maldives in the past few months producing a joint film production between Maldives and Sri Lanka, and I am happy to say that the initial discussions are successfully concluded and I will be flying over to Maldives soon to ink the final agreements with the intention to start shooting in the coming months. This will be my 10th film production which is a love story with a lot of romance but targeted to the family audience, and will be an international production. This is to be shot in both Maldives and Sri Lanka with artists from both countries and possibly a few from India too. With the new reliefs the Government will be giving for international film productions, time to come we would be able to produce many more such international productions taking our local cinema industry to a different height. The time has come to take our film industry to a new direction,” Dr. Arosha concluded.
