Wickramarachchi Opticians and Hearing Aids celebrates 40 years of successful hearing stories

Wickramarachchi Opticians and Hearing Aids, subsidiary of J.M. Wickramarachchi & Co., celebrated its 40th anniversary and served over 400 cochlear hearing implant success stories at a gala celebration launched together with Global Ambassador, Australian Cricketer Brett Lee. The celebration was held at the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo amidst a gathering of over 100 stakeholders in the health and government sectors. The company also launched a mobile hearing lab. 

Cricketing star Brett Lee will be touring the country and visiting hearing impaired patients in Sri Lanka, participating in a series of events and awareness sessions as well as participating in a friendly cricket match together with the children who have gone through cochlear implants. 

The Cochlear Implant system is a safe, reliable and effective treatment for severe to profound hearing loss in adults and children. It is also a routine medical intervention especially for children who are born hearing impaired or people with moderate hearing loss. It is designed to let implant users experience sounds and helps to enhance communication abilities, allowing better hearing and speaking potential for the recipients.
