Sri Lanka’s most valuable brands dominated by banking sector

Media Services, the publisher of leading business magazine LMD, announced that its 2015 special edition of the Brands Annual has been released to supermarkets and bookstores across the island. 

The all-encompassing special issue features the top 200 listed and unlisted brands in Sri Lanka, in addition to the leading bands in three other categories – conglomerates, exports and multinational brands. 

Compiled by Brand Finance, the top 10 amongst the ‘listed brands’ are familiar names that include Bank of Ceylon, People’s Bank, National Savings Bank, Dialog and Commercial Bank, in that order. Sri Lanka’s most valuable brand – BOC – is valued at Rs. 41.4 billion, with a rating of ‘AA+’. 

Brand Finance’s leading ‘unlisted brands’ are Dettol, Sony and Johnson’s Baby, while John Keells, Hemas and Softlogic head the conglomerate brands table.



Also in the limelight are Sri Lanka’s top export brands, led by Brandix, MAS and Virtusa, whereas Unilever takes top billing in the multinational brands listing.
