ETD has launched on a new program to create awareness for the need to have inclusive disabled friendly recreational areas, thereby giving an equal opportunity to persons/children with special needs too, to participate and enjoy the facilities available to everyone. In consultation with experts from diversified areas, ETD will move towards making Sri Lanka disabled friendly.

In its plans for the future, ETD will be organising small pocket programs for persons with disabilities, every two months.

The first such program will be a Vesak Lantern Competition for special needs children from 10 homes. The homes will be approached and given the opportunity to participate. It will be purely the efforts of children with special needs who can showcase their talents in creativity.

A special panel of judges will be selected, the competition will be given both media and electronic publicity and a prize will be awarded to the winner, first and second runners up.

ETD invites corporates to join them and sponsor each event which will be held every two months.

This will also boost their CSR commitment, to society.

Let these flowers bloom, this world is just as much theirs; let’s together make Sri Lanka disabled friendly.
