Ceylon Chamber led ILCCI mounts delegation to Mumbai to coincide with Make In India Week

The Indo Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will lead a ‘Trade and Investment Promotion Mission’, to take part in the ‘Make In India Week’, which will take place in Mumbai, India’s Commercial Capital.

The Make In India Week, which is to be held from 13 to 16 February is organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). 

The 14 member Sri Lankan delegation will comprise representatives from business areas such as Automotive Products and Accessories, BPO and IT enabled Services, Financial Services, Investment Consultancy, Pharmaceuticals, Real Estate and Property Development, Hydro-Power and Energy, Logistics, Glass manufacturing, Petroleum products, Tourism, MICE tourism, Tourism infrastructure, etc.

The high profile delegations includes top businessmen such as Vish Govindasamy, Group Managing Director, Sunshine Holdings PLC, Biju Jacob, Country Head – Sri Lanka, ICICI Bank Ltd., Sanjev Perera, Director – Operations, Alpha Industries Ltd., Yohann De Zoysa, Director – Passenger Vehicles, Associated Motorways Ltd., S.A.S. Manjusri Fernando, President/CEO, Axienta Ltd., RashiyamanyMuralidaran, Managing Director, Bartleet Religare Securities Ltd.; Ayoni Waniganayake, Senior Assistant Secretary General, The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Roshanie Jayasundera Moraes, Executive Vice President, John Keells Holdings PLC, Shyam Bohra, Managing Director, Lanka IOC PLC, Sanjay Tiwari, CEO/President, Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC, Rohitha Mendis, Managing Director, Prudential Shipping Lines Ltd., Prema Cooray, Chairman, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Kumudu Hennedige, Manager Marketing Promotions, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and Panjan Navaratnam, Executive Director, Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd.

The delegates will have the opportunity of participating at the Make In India Week’s ‘Asia Business Forum’, thus providing them with an opportunity to network with over 1000 Businessmen from many countries. The mission is supported by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai. The Delegation is also expected to meet with members of the Indo-German Chamber, Indian Merchants’ Chamber, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and Bombay Chamber of Commerce, as well as with members of the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) based in Mumbai.

Vish Govindasamy, who is leading the delegation to Mumbai as the President of the ILCCI of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce stated, “The Make in India Week is set to showcase the people, policies and partnerships that are driving India’s new manufacturing revolution. We are confident this would offer our Delegates too, unprecedented access, insights and opportunities to connect and collaborate with India and other global Industry leaders and visionaries, which would assist Sri Lanka too in its strive towards economic excellence.”

The Indo Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ILCCI) was formed under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in 2006.
