DIG Edirisinghe to chair jury of appeal for hockey at 13th SAARC Games

Deputy Inspector General of Police Sumith Edirisinghe, the President of the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation as well as a member of the Board of Directors and the Council of the Asian Hockey Federation, has been appointed as chairman of the jury of appeal for hockey at the 13th SAARC games scheduled to commence at Guhart, India on 6 February.

DIG Edirisinghe has been a member of the jury of appeal at the Asian Hockey Championships held in 2006 (Qatar), 2010 (China) and 2014 (Australia) and is the first Sri Lankan to chair the jury of appeal for hockey at the SAARC Games.

He is an old boy of Nalanda College Colombo and an alumni of the University of Kelaniya from which he holds a Degree in Business Management. He is a former President of the State Services Hockey Federation and has held many posts in the Asian Hockey Federation since 2002 

DIG Edirisinghe has done immense service to promote the game of hockey at school level in Sri Lanka.
