Sarvodaya Development Finance rewarded at Annual Report Awards 2015

Sarvodaya Development Finance, a finance company registered at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, under the Finance Business Act No. 42 of 2011 recently won a ‘Certificate of Compliance’ at the 51st Annual Report Awards 2015 organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the event was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.

This is the first year that the company took part in the annual report awards. The theme of the report this year was ‘Growing Fertile Prosperity’. 

Commenting on this significant achievement Sarvodaya Development Finance Chairman Eastman Narangoda notes: “As a relatively new finance company in the industry Sarvodaya Development Finance is indeed proud to be recognised for our compliance at this prestigious awards ceremony. This award only goes to show the attention to detail our staff put in when it comes to compliance for financial reporting and other areas. We also see this award as a means of assuring our valued customers of the trust they place in us.”

Sarvodaya Development Finance won this ‘Certificate of Compliance’ under the finance company category battling out many well-known names in the industry. Sri Lanka adopted international financial reporting standards (IFRSs) four years ago and has since promoted and standardised and full compliance of companies’ financial reporting.
