The Embassy of the Republic of Korea donated a total of 221 books and audiovisual materials regarding Korea to the Korea Corner at the Colombo Public Library. Around 40 people including

Korean Ambassador Chang Won-sam, KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) Sri Lanka Country Director Cho Kyu-chan, library representatives and Korean language students at the Korean Corner attended the donation ceremony which was held on 19 December.

The Korea Corner was opened in January 2014 in the Colombo Public Library. It is a pleasant space where you can watch Korean dramas and K-Pop videos, and read books in various categories about Korea.

At the Korea Corner, the Korean language courses are also run by the KOICA from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday. Currently, about 90 Sri Lankan students are learning Korean language.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea plans to further promote the Korea Corner so that more Sri Lankan people understand Korea and its culture.
