New Executive Director at TISL

Asoka Obeyesekere, a barrister and a political scientist, has assumed duties as Executive Director of Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL).

Prior to joining TISL, Asoka was a Governance Consultant at Verité Research, where he led the Manthri.lk team that runs Sri Lanka’s only parliamentary performance monitoring platform. In this capacity he has been involved in broad ranging work spanning electoral reforms to MP asset disclosure standards. 

Asoka has previously worked as a research consultant at TISL and worked at a number of Westminster-based political think-tanks. He has private sector experience from his time as a graduate trainee at Ernst & Young, London. 

Asoka holds a L.L.B. from Queen Mary College and a M.Sc. in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics & Political Science. He was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple.
