The Sri Lanka Navy has declared a general amnesty period for its absentees, enabling them to receive their legal discharge from the Navy.

A three-month amnesty period has been granted for navy personnel, who have left without following proper procedure, to report back to work and get legally discharged. The amnesty period will be effective from 1 July. The absentees are required to report to the nearest navy base. They will have the opportunity to leave the service legally on the same day they report to the base, Navy Spokesperson Commander Indika de Silva said.

However, personnel who are enrolled in various courses and have signed agreements are required to fulfill those obligations before they can be discharged.
