Toastmasters National Conference to embark on achieving greatness together

The Division A, H and J of the District 82 - Toastmasters International have planned for their National Conference to be held on 26 and 27 March 2011 at Grand Ballroom, Blue Waters Wadduwa under the auspices of the District Governor, Distinguished Toastmaster Nagaraj Rao.

The two day conference is expected to gather over 400 participants with an exciting line up of speech contests; educational sessions; and a fellowship night.

Toastmasters is a non-profit organisation, dedicated towards developing public speaking and leadership skills of its membership. Present in over 120 countries, Sri Lanka and India form District 82 of Toastmasters International; of which Division A, H and J are based in Sri Lanka.

Cascading form the toastmasters vision towards helping individuals to sharpen their public speaking and leadership skills through effective communication and leadership development, this year’s conference will navigate on “Achieving Greatness Together”.

The highlight of the two day conference will be the most looked forward to division level international and Table Topics speech contest where nearly 72 contestants will be competing to represent Sri Lanka at the District level contest – Ovation 2011 to be held at Infosys Campus Mysore, India in May 2011.

The Toastmasters movement has proven effectiveness with unprecedented growth archived in the last few years where the membership and the geographical spread. The national conference is also the meeting point of over 1500 Toastmasters Island-wide where they learn, share knowledge and strengthen the network.
