President officiates at National Tea Awards

The first ever National Tea Awards were held to mark the 150th anniversary of Ceylon Tea with the participation of President Maithripala Sirisena as the Chief Guest on the invitation of Plantation Industries Minister Navin Dissanayake at the Nelum Pokuna. Awards were also presented to the best tea plucker male and female and tea small holders. The awards recognised the contributions and achievements made by individuals and companies in several fields of the tea industry. They were thanked for the tremendous contributions they have made to the industry.
