New Batuwangala equals all-time record for PEK1 grade

An invoice of Low Grown PEK1 sold under the New Batuwangala Mark sold at Rs. 880 per kg, equalling the existing record for this type of tea. 

Batuwangala Tea Factory is located at Neluwa in the Galle agro climatic district produces fine Orthodox black teas. Batuwangala Tea Factory is part of Andaradeniya Estate Ltd. and is owned by Dr. W. Jinadasa.

This tea was purchased by Lakru Teas and brokers for the transaction was Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
