Nayapane Estate establishes an all-time record price

Nayapane Estate situated in Pussellawa, has established an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction of 24 April, by securing an attractive price of Rs. 860 per kg, for a BOPFs grade in the Western Medium Grown category.

Nayapane Estate has unfailingly produced teas of good quality maintaining consistent levels of compliance to Japanese market standards and is also sought after by leading buyers the world over. Nayapane Estate is the first ISO 9001 certified factory in Sri Lanka and is also certified under “Rainforests Alliance” and is ETP compliant. The factory has incurred heavy Investments on state-of-the-art manufacturing technology. Whilst currently assessing the carbon footprint, almost 25% to 30% of energy is generated through solar power.

Nayapane Estate is managed by Elpitiya Plantations PLC, and this line of tea was purchased by Tea Tang Limited.  The broker for the sale of this tea was John Keells PLC.
