Mooloya achieves an all-time record price

Mooloya Estate established an all-time record price of Rs. 840 per kg for a BOP grade in the Uda Pussellawa elevational category at the Colombo Tea Auctions. The auction was held on 25 September for the first time after five years. This line of tea was purchased by M/s. Heritage Teas Ltd.  

The estate established in 1885 is currently owned and managed by Pussellawa Plantations PLC, which is a subsidiary of Damro and is Rainforest Alliance certified. Mooloya Estate is located east of Nuwara Eliya on the Uda Pussellawa mountain range, the colder temperatures helping in the manufacture of teas with a rosy character coupled with bright infusions. Isuru Samarakoon is the manager of the estate.
