Colombo YPO Supports Farming Community with Coconut Seedlings

A coconut seedling distribution project to local cultivators was organised under the patronage of the Young Professionals Organisation (YPO) of the United National Party (UNP) in Gampaha and Beruwala districts on 27 February and 3 March respectively.

its members participated in handing over the seedlings to local farmers.

The said project had been organised with the intent of encouraging local farmers and to further the growth of the ‘Kapruka’, as the name suggests, coconut, the invaluable crop in the Asian region that is vital both culturally and economically.

Young Professionals Organisation Chairman Harshana Rajakaruna MP and the Colombo Chapter President Pesala Karunarathna along with its members participated in handing over the seedlings to local farmers.
