‘Ceylon Spices’ brand launched at ANUGA 2019 Trade Fair in Germany

Sri Lanka’s country-of-origin trade mark for the spices sector was launched in Frankfurt on the 6 October during the ANUGA 2019 International Food and Beverages Trade Fair held in Cologne, Germany. 

The ANUGA Trade Fair held from 5-9 October is the largest trade show for food and beverages in the world. Over 40 leading companies from Sri Lanka participated in the trade fair which was attended by over 7,000 companies from over 100 countries in the food and beverages sector. Sri Lankan companies met with potential international buyers during this very significant global exhibition for food and beverages.  

The Sri Lanka Pavilion was inaugurated by Deputy Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Nalin Bandara, Consul General of Sri Lanka Madurika Weninger and Export Development Board Chairman Indira Malwatte. 

The ‘Ceylon Spices’ Masterbrand has a distinct position, personality, promise and visual and verbal system and all qualifying spices will use the same name, colours and ‘Born in Sri Lanka’ tagline. The brand logo would carry the Lion placed inside the Sri Lanka Flag with the wording ‘Ceylon Spices’ followed by ‘Born in Sri Lanka’ tagline. Visitors to the Sri Lanka pavilion had the opportunity to savour the spices and attended the Sri Lanka Culinary Show.
