Adamjee Lukmanjee wins Silver at Exporter Awards

Adamjee Lukmanjee and Sons Ltd., was honoured at the recently concluded National Exporter Awards organised by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka, with the Silver Award in the Extra Large Category, in the Coconut and Coconut based products sector.

The theme of this year’s awards under which exporters were judged was the 3 Ps: People, Planet, Profit.

Founded over 150 years ago, Adamjee Lukmanjee and Sons Ltd., has a rich history and legacy of trade in Sri Lanka, earning much foreign exchange to the economy through its concerted efforts in the coconut products sector.

Over the years the company has gained a reputation as a star-class corporate that has evolved on benchmarked best practices and an inclusive work environment that truly reflects the multicultural ethos of the nation. In addition, strict statutory compliance and the use of new technology has seen the company grow to the giant it is today.

Generating employment for over 300 staff and expansion into new avenues, including technologies that have reduced the impact of the business on the environment, which has earned the company many certifications, including: SLSI (Sri Lanka Standards Institute) and ISO 22000:2005, ISO14001 certification, as well as 22000, BRC A+, BSCI A, Halal, Kosher, Organic, Fairtrade, & Naturland certification.
