Hambantota International Convention Centre

The International Convention Centre is being constructed in a 28 acre land in Siribopura, in the Hambantota District at a cost of U.S.$ 15.3 million.  The Complex has a main hall with 1500 seating capacity, 3 more halls with 250 seat capacity each and 10 other small halls.

The complex has restaurant facilities, exhibition halls, modern sound and recording facilities, and also an open air theatre.

This two storied complex has a helipad and parking space for 670 vehicles, 12 buses, and 245 motor cycles.  It also has a VIP car park.  The complex also has a Hall of 8,081 sq. metres.

The complex situated on the Hambantota-Colombo road facing the Hambantota Harbour is being constructed with modern architectural designs, and arrangements have also been made to establish an open air garden.  The Korean International Corporation is designing the architecture under the supervision of the Urban Development Authority.

The Hambantota International Convention Centre is the first state-of-the-art convention centre built outside Colombo with facilities for conferences and conventions. (www.news.lk)
