The Australian College of Business and Technology (ACBT) in association with Australian government-owned Edith Cowan University (ECU), offers students who have completed their Advanced Level examinations an opportunity to receive a globally recognised Australian degree qualification right here in Sri Lanka.

Edith Cowan University is listed in the Commonwealth Universities yearbook and the International Handbook of Universities and is recognised internationally as a provider of world-class education. ACBT is also a member of the Navitas group which is arguably the world’s leading provider of pathway programmes with colleges in Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Singapore Africa and Sri Lanka.

ACBT is renowned for its graduates with high employability, which is a result of the courses on offer that are structured with industry demands and needs in mind. The practicality of the courses includes projects, assignments, assessments, group work and examinations, gearedto ensure maximum integration into the corporate sector.

Degree programmes on offer at ACBT include business, marketing, management, computer science and software engineering, with the advantage of completing the degree in Sri Lanka for a fraction of the cost of studying in Australia.

Those interested in obtaining degrees in accounting, international business, finance, mobile computing, networking, MIS, tourism, hospitality management, economics and human resource management have the option of following the first year at ACBT, Sri Lanka and completing the degree at one of the many Australian or UK Universities on offer.

Students completing their first year are awarded a Diploma, which is followed by a degree at the end of three years. Students are also presented with stage level qualifications during their course of study, which is an added advantage. Students who lack the necessary skills in English and mathematics are offered assistance and free programmes to enhance their aptitude.

Entry requirements for undergraduate courses include those who have completed their A Levels. Those who have completed their O Levels have the opportunity to sit for the eight-month foundation programme that offers students direct access to the degree programmes at ACBT or in Australian Universities.

ACBT is now a recruiting ground for top corporate and blue-chip companies in Sri Lanka as the degrees offered are designed in collaboration with industry and professional bodies to produce graduates with practical skills highly sought after by the corporate sector.

Many ACBT students have already gained employment in leading companies both in Sri Lanka in overseas. ACBT also attracts international students from countries including the Maldives, China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Africa.

ACBT’s extracurricular activities include an active students’ council and team sports including cricket, rugby and basketball. The Institute also has an ICT council, which is involved in many IT related programmes.
