The residents of Poland and travel enthusiasts had the opportunity to visit the Colourful Consumer event, which promoted Sri Lanka tourism from 31 May to 2 June at Vistula Boulevards in the city of Warsaw, Poland. Visitors had a great chance to get familiar with the culture, oriental flavours and entertainment of Sri Lanka as an exotic island located in the Indian Ocean.

Almost 10,000 residents of Warsaw took advantage of the first June sunny days and they visited the Colourful Emotions Zone on the Vistula Boulevards which promoted Sri Lanka as an interesting destination to travellers to spend their holiday.  

There were plenty of various attractions organised for the visitors. The Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Poland, Wijerathne, together with Director Marketing Madubhani Perera and Junior Manager Shirani Herath, and Travel and Trade representatives opened the event with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp on the first day of the event (31 May) as a greeting gesture and an invitation to take part in the attractions prepared. The participants had a chance to taste the Ceylon tea which was served by Dilmah right throughout all three days of the event. The general public of Warsaw had also an opportunity to see the performance of Sri Lankan dancers who flew from Milan that demonstrated a folkloristic show.

Ayurveda – the traditional natural medicine, which is over 5,000 years, was also presented in the Zone by Siddhalepa Ayurveda resort with free relaxing foot massage. People visiting the Colourful Emotions Zone could also get an insight to healthy food with its explanation with live demonstrations. 

The Colourful Emotions Zone was designed with the usage of ecofriendly products and in coherence with Sri Lankan natural beauty. 

Travellers who took part in the event could hear Michał Cessanis of National Geographic Traveller, Kasia Wątor, Agata Skłodowska, Michał Kosim and Marek Józefowski telling stories about their adventures in Sri Lanka. The travel bloggers ‘Podróż odbyta’ encouraged everyone to visit Sri Lanka and explore its wonders of nature. During the whole weekend the visitors could take part in yoga classes, magic tricks show, animations for children, wheel of fortune and engage in art workshops. 

Sri Lankan fashion designer organised a batik fashion show on the stage. Siddhalepa Ayurveda and Anarva organised a special cooking classes with traditional food tasting. A contest was organised to ‘Describe your dream holiday’ and the lucky winner was given away an air ticket with a tour package. 

Multiple companies were partners in the event including: Dilmah, Fadna, Siddhalepa Ayurveda and Anarva, Eco Love Lanka, LAKARCADE, Taste of Ceylon along with Tropical Asia Tours and E Turismo Lanka. There were many activities which were presented at the three-day event entertaining the youngsters and families where they could spend some quality time together. Poland is a very fast growing market for Sri Lanka tourism. Every year, more than 20,000 people visit the island. This event was another opportunity to showcase the natural beauty and cultural values of Sri Lanka creating the much needed awareness of the country to the Polish nationals.
