The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) is aggressively promoting MICE tourism to Sri Lanka with its back-to-back MICE promotions and trade fair participation in China, Singapore and India.

Sri Lanka’s main objective in taking part in these promotions is to convey to all meeting and Incentive planners that Sri Lanka has now emerged as one of the best Incentive destinations and corporate venues for business meetings.

Sri Lanka’s real strength is in corporate meetings and incentive travel for the diversity of attractions and locations available in this country that cannot be easily matched by any other competitor. The diversity is so vast from beaches, to culture, heritage, wildlife, mountains that could be reached within a few hours of drive.  The new products such as whale watching, dolphin watching, Ramayan Trail and destinations weddings will further be added onto the MICE tourism itineraries.

“In order to get more MICE clients to Sri Lanka, we should do away with the traditional Colombo, Kandy and Bentota itineraries and look for new innovative itineraries with ‘wow’ factors,” said SLCB Chairman Prema Cooray.
