MCA ‘E’ Division 25-Over League Tournament commences

The MCA ‘E’ Division 25-Over League Tournament for the DPGC Challenge Trophy, sponsored by the David Pieris Group of Companies, got off the ground over the weekend.

Twelve half-day matches were played and the first winners were Brandix Essentials ‘B’, HSBC ‘A’, Allianz Insurance, Emerchemie NB, UB Finance, Amana Bank, Akbar Bros, Virtusa, Stafford Motors, Commercial Leasing, Eagle Logistics and Ceylinco Insurance.

The weekend’s top performers were Mithun Jayawickrama from UB Finance (109 not out against Trellerborg Lanka), Sameera Fernando from Allianz Insurance (75 against LOLC), Kalpa Sachinthaka from Commercial Leasing (5 for 18 against Prym Intimates), R. Urendren from Akbar Bros (92 not out against Softlogic Finance), Dulaj Egodage from Eagle Logistics (81 not out against 3DH International), Kalpa Theshan from Stafford Motor Company (75 against AIA Insurance) and Sajeewa Vishan from Stafford Motor Company (5 for 30 against AIA Insurance).
