22nd SLAF Cycle Race to be flagged off on 7 March

The 22nd Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Cycle Race will be flagged off from SLAF Headquarters in Colombo 2 on 7 March to mark the 70th Anniversary of SLAF in association with Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL).

Over 100 cyclists are expected to compete in the men’s race, while the women’s race will be also worked off on the same day.

The men’s race will start at 8:30 a.m., and it will proceed along Wattala, Ja-Ela, Minuwangoda, Divulapi-tiya, Giriulla, Narammala, Kuliyapitiya, Madampe, Wennappuwa, Kochchikade, Negombo and finish at the 20th Mile Post in Katunayake, covering a distance of nearly 179 km.

The women’s race will be flagged off at 8:00 a.m. from SLAF Base – Ekala and will proceed along Katunayake via Minuwangoda, Divulapitiya, Giriulla, Pannala, Dankotuwa, Kochchikade and Negombo, covering a distance of 76 km.

Former Rajans and top-class Golfer Air Marshal Sudharshana Pathirana will grace the awards ceremo-ny.
