JCB partners with United Motors

In a fresh bid to consolidate JCB’s expansive range of machines for Sri Lanka, United Motors PLC (UML) and JCB announced a strategic partnership at a press conference held on Thursday (14) at the newly unveiled UML Heavy Equipment facility.

JCB India CEO and Managing Director Vipin Sondhi while expressing the outlook of JCB in Sri Lanka said that they are looking forward to contribute to the booming construction industry of the country. “We are delighted to announce our partnership with United Motors PLC. JCB is committed to providing world-class products and services for its customers through this partnership. We also look forward to contributing towards the building of infrastructure in Sri Lanka,” he added. 

The newly built premises in Peliyagoda is a state of the art care and sales centre for all JCB products while providing services such as mechanical repairs, painting, welding, servicing and maintenance. The company’s mobile service units will also be well equipped with sophisticated tools and skilled staff who will respond immediately to urgent breakdowns throughout the country. 

UML CEO and Executive Director Chanaka Yatawara also stated that the main focus will be to ensure that customers will have minimum down time of their machines by adopting JCB’s latest telematics technology, JCB Livelink which will be enable them to monitor performance of each machine. He also noted that this technology will help in carrying out preventative maintenance and improving productivity. 

JCB will use Livelink technology that is used at the new service facility to remotely monitor performance of all machine individually. This will identify and alert the JCB users of any urgent issues or a decrease in efficiency of the machine early and will provide the necessary details for servicing and product support. The product portfolio will cover excavators, compactors, wheeled loaders, telescopic handlers and power generators for the Sri Lankan and Maldivian markets.
