Tiara wins coveted Gold accolade at National Quality Awards

Tiara Cakes marketed by CBL Foods International Ltd., a subsidiary of CBL Group, achieved prestige and acclaim, winning the highest accolade – the Gold award for Large Scale Manufacturing – at the National Quality Awards (NQA) held recently.

Importantly, Tiara is also the only packaged cake brand to receive this prominent quality award signifying the brand’s ability to manufacture products in accordance with international standards ensuring customers’ trust is unbroken.

The Sri Lanka National Quality Award is an annual award presented to Sri Lankan organizations in recognition of their excellent quality management and quality achievements. This quality award program is organised and implemented by the Marketing and Promotion Division of Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI).

The Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) is acknowledged as the National Standards body in Sri Lanka and a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organisations.

Demonstrating the brand’s commitment to quality, Tiara Cakes is also the sole cake brand in the country to have achieved the Sri Lanka Standard certification or the ‘SLS’ mark. The NQA’s rigorous and exacting evaluation criteria are based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards in the USA. Categories including leadership, strategy, customers, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce, operations and results provide a framework to measure quality excellence.

Currently, Tiara accounts close to 70% market share in the branded cake market, asserting consumer trustworthiness instilled in the brand.

Tiara cakes are manufactured in a state-of-the art factory according to rigorous quality and hygienic standards guaranteeing lasting freshness and longer shelf-life.  

Tiara by CBL Foods International was the first South Asian manufacturing company in 2004 to launch portion cakes. Today the brand enjoys a strong following with a delicious range of cakes including delectable soft sponge cakes, Swiss-rolls and layer cakes. Recently the brand extended its Tiara Rollo range with new variants of Orange and Almond flavours to provide consumers with more choice.
