International Conference on Poverty and Sustainable Development

The fourth International Conference on Poverty and Sustainable Development (ICPSD 2017) is organised by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) to be held on 5-6 December, at Mövenpick Hotel Colombo with a participation of in excess of 75+ local and foreign delegates representing from more than 20 countries all around the world.

The ICPSD2017 is chaired by Prof. Sarath Kotagama Professor of Environmental Science, Department of Zoology, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka who will also collaborate as the keynote speaker.

The keynote forum will be represented by Prof. Upinder Sawhney, Chairperson, Department of Economics at Panjab University India on the topic ‘Achieving Sustainable Development Goals – A Policy Challenge for the Indian Sub-continent’ and Una McCauley, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative.

Aasim A. Siddiqui, Managing Director, Marine Group of Companies, Pakistan will collaborate with the conference as the plenary speaker.

The Ministry of Social Empowerment, Welfare and Kandyan Heritage, Sri Lanka Contributes as the Supporting Ministry for this conference while Department of Economics, Panjab University – Chandigarh India will be the Hosting Partner. Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) provides their support as the Academic Partner of ICPSD 2017.

The conference is organised under the theme ‘Strategies for meeting SDGs: Ending Poverty in all its Forms Everywhere’ a topic that requires special focus and attention and a platform to be addressed. ICPSD2017 is believed to be that focal point that will produce a stage for topics such as Governance and Poverty, Modern Agriculture Practices and Poverty, Cashless Society and Poverty Implications, Middle East Labour Contribution to Poverty Eradication, National Happiness Index and Poverty, Circular Economics and Poverty and many more to be discussed.

This certainly is an important gathering for all the stakeholders including academics, practitioners, industry experts, policy makers and researchers in the field of study in relation to Poverty and Sustainable Development. They get the opportunity from networking, knowledge sharing and engaging with world renowned professionals in the field of Poverty and Sustainable Development which will be beneficial to clear up the blanked cornerstones of their career. The speakers and the presenters will engage in a Q and A session with the audience of the conference and the participants not only get the opportunity to listen to world class speakers during the conference, but also the opportunity to share their knowledge at the technical sessions.
